Vaccine Myths

Page 4

In developed and privileged countries, parents often choose not to vaccinate their children. This is because they have some real concerns and fears concerning vaccinations. Whether these fears are due to a conversation with a friend, an internet article, or a falsely laid claim by a doctor decades ago doesn’t matter. They want what is best for their children and have many avenues for misinformation. If a parent is doubtful of vaccine safety, the most responsible option is to contact their pediatrician or family care physician for more information. Doctors are a wealth of knowledge about medical issues. Unlike celebrity activists, internet bloggers and conspiracy theorists, parents should trust the advice of their doctor above other sources. The reason for this is that there is a mountain of misinformation that can cause a parent to fear for the safety of their children and family.

Let’s discuss some myths about vaccines.
